About the Incubator

The Comenius University Science Park Incubator in Bratislava (Inkubátor VP UK) is a place where Comenius University students, graduates, and staff can move their idea or project closer to real-world application. We help you get oriented, clarify your direction, validate assumptions, and gradually turn your idea into concrete next steps—whether that means initial real-world testing, launching a project, or taking the first steps toward starting a business.

The Incubator is intended for:

• Comenius University students,
• Comenius University graduates up to 5 years after completing their studies,
• Comenius University staff and researchers who want to bring the results of their work into practice, especially through university spin-offs,
• Multidisciplinary teams with at least one member from Comenius University.

The Incubator may not be the right fit for you if:

• You are only looking for a one-off consultation without interest in actively moving your project forward,
• You already run a fully established company and mainly need commercial services without any connection to the university environment,
• Your project cannot be carried out in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

Our goal is to ensure that strong ideas from the university environment don’t get left “in a drawer,” but instead get the opportunity to succeed in real-world practice. We support teams in validating their ideas, preparing their first steps in the market, and building projects toward sustainable operation—whether as a student initiative, a startup, or a university spin-off. We also support knowledge transfer and the practical application of research outcomes, and we connect university teams with experts and partners.

It doesn’t matter whether your idea is “technological.” What matters is that it makes sense and has the potential to be applied in practice. The only requirement is that the project is innovative, whether it involves product innovation, service innovation, or process innovation.

Depending on your needs and what’s available, we can provide:

• Structure, regular feedback, and support with your next steps,
• Mentoring and expert consultations (from the university and from practice),
• A base for meetings and collaboration within the Comenius University Science Park,
• Connections to relevant contacts and university departments,
• Basic guidance on topics such as legal matters, finance, and the protection of outcomes/results.

The Incubator VP UK was established on 1 January 2017 as part of the Comenius University Science Park in Bratislava, within the project “University Science Park of Comenius University in Bratislava.”
