How to start
Do you have an idea, an ongoing project, or are you thinking about how to bring research and new solutions into practice? At the Comenius University Science Park Incubator (Inkubátor VP UK), we’ll help you get oriented, clarify your direction, and take the first concrete steps—so your idea can become a real project or a business.
What you gain in the incubator?
- A clear direction and concrete next steps, so your idea doesn’t stay “on paper,”
- Feedback on your project and support in deciding what to focus on first,
- Access to mentors and experts from both the university and professional practice,
- Support with real-world validation—how to find out whether there is demand and what needs to be adjusted,
- Community and connections—meet people at a similar stage and potentially find collaborators,
- Facilities at the Comenius University Science Park for meetings and teamwork, and much more.
What kind of idea can you apply with?
It doesn’t matter whether your idea is “technological.” What matters is that it makes sense and has the potential to be applied in practice. The only requirement is that the project is innovative—whether it’s product innovation, service innovation, or process innovation.
Who is the incubator for?
The incubator is intended for Comenius University students, graduates up to 5 years after completing their studies, and Comenius University staff. Multidisciplinary teams are also welcome, as long as at least one team member is affiliated with Comenius University.
How does the support work?
Support in our incubator has two levels:
Validate Program – helps you validate your idea in practice and prepare for the next step.
Build & Grow Program – one-year support for teams that demonstrated progress and potential during the Validate Program.
How and when can you apply?
Check the Programs page to see when applications are open.
Complete the application, which has two parts:
- Online form – one person can submit it on behalf of the whole team. It takes about 20–30 minutes and helps us quickly understand your project, team, and motivation.
- Video introduction – briefly and naturally tell us: who you are (team composition and skills), what problem you solve, who it’s for, what you want to validate/improve in the program, and what you expect from it. A phone video is enough—the goal is content, not production quality. This is what the video introduction should look like.
Important: The video is not uploaded as a file. You include it as a link directly in the form. Upload it, for example, to YouTube as Unlisted (not public), or to Google Drive with access set to “anyone with the link can view,” and paste the link into the application.
If you’re not sure whether the incubator is right for you, feel free to reach out via the form or email us at inkubatoruniba.sk. We’ll be happy to hear what you’re working on and recommend the most suitable next step. We’re here for you.
