What is the reality of building a startup like without sugarcoating, including everything that can go wrong along the way? We invite you to 399 No’s, 1 Yes: The Reality of Building a Startup, which offers an honest, behind-the-scenes look at the journey from an idea to a real company.
The event will be of interest to Comenius University students, PhD candidates, and staff who are considering their own project or want to better understand what building a startup looks like in practice. You will learn what matters when searching for product–market fit, how to assemble the right team, and what fundraising really means—including why you often hear many “no’s” before you get one “yes.”
Our guest will be Tim Szalay, Founder & CEO of ABYA Genomics, where he focuses on innovation in the life sciences. Tim took his startup from “garage” research to the global stage in San Francisco, and he openly shares what it takes to move from a scientific experiment to a technology startup in Silicon Valley.
